Getting started

Get verified in about ten minutes

Travellers are meeting someone new. Verification is what gives them the confidence to book you.

  • Sign up with a live selfie

    Taken with your phone’s camera in the app — uploads aren’t accepted. It takes about a minute.

  • Verify your Aadhaar

    An OTP to your registered number confirms your identity and that you’re 18 or over.

  • Add a vehicle (optional)

    If you offer transport, we verify the registration against VAHAN.

  • Set your rate and days

    Add your price and availability, and your profile goes live in Explore.

Your rate is yours. Travellers pay a platform fee on top of it — it never comes out of what you earn.

Questions Localites ask

Does it cost anything to join?
No. Signing up, verification and listing are free.
Do I need a vehicle?
No. Many Localites guide on foot or meet travellers who arrange their own transport. If you do add a vehicle, we verify its registration against VAHAN.
How much can I charge?
You set your own full-day and half-day rates, and you can change them whenever you like.
Do I have to accept every request?
No. You see the trip before you decide and can decline without penalty. Travellers are only charged after you accept.
When do I get paid?
Your earnings are shown in the app trip by trip, and paid out to your bank account after the trip is completed.
What are the requirements?
You must be 18 or over, have a valid Aadhaar, and pass the live selfie check.
