Questions about pricing

How much is the platform fee?
A small percentage of your Localite’s rate. The exact amount for your booking is itemised on the payment screen before you pay anything — we would rather show you the real number for your trip than print a percentage here that could change.
Is there a booking fee as well?
No. The platform fee and GST are the only amounts added to your Localite's rate. There is no separate booking, service or convenience fee.
When am I charged?
Only after your Localite accepts the booking. Nothing is taken while a request is still pending, and if they cannot make the day no money moves at all.
Can I see the total before I commit?
Yes. The Localite's rate, the platform fee and GST are itemised separately on the payment screen, and the total you see is the total charged.
Can I pay part now and the rest later?
Yes. Pay Later takes a smaller commitment amount up front and collects the balance closer to the trip.
What if the fee changes after I book?
It does not affect you. Every booking stores the rates that applied when it was made, so a later change cannot alter your booking, your refund or your Localite's payout.
What if I cancel?
It depends on how far ahead you cancel. The cancellation tier for your booking is shown at checkout and on your confirmation, and the exact amount is calculated and displayed before you confirm. If a Localite cancels on you, you are refunded in full.
Are prices per person or per group?
Per booking. A Localite's day rate covers your group, subject to the group size they accept.
